Jemma Jones is taking the Three Peak Challenge on behalf of her mum.
Jemma says: “my mum has a rare autoimmune illness all relating to vasculitis (Wegener’s granulomatosis) and it’s pretty debilitating and completely life changing. This illness imitates other illnesses so it’s extremely hard to diagnose until it’s sometimes too late to reverse the problems it’s caused. My mum, for example, has lost her hearing, balance, has issues with vision and regularly has to have operations as well as numerous other things”.
